The shades

I’m a bit late to the party, but L’oreal has expanded their True  Match Foundation shade range. Previously, there was no shade that matched me. I was doing my weekly run in Target and noticed the display in the beauty isle, displaying all the tester foundations.

Be sure to check out my previous post about powders here.

The shades

The foundation shades that I have are Cappicunino N8, Deep Warm W9.5, Spiced Latte W9 (new shade), and Creme Cafe W8. Of all the shades, W9 matches my face the most while W8 matched my arm. I did notice that there is a huge jump from W8 to W9 to W9.5. I only happen to stumble across W9 while shopping at Target. After doing a quick search online for the shade, it was extremely difficult to even find a site where W9 was sold let alone a review.

My thoughts

The shades W8 and W9 both have SPF 15 while W9.5 does not. Be mindful if using fjoundations with SPF as they may give flashback with flash photography (from my experience they have). Color stayed true throughout wear and did not oxidize, but texture did . While this does shift on face, this is good for a quick “put something on right quick” to run errands. It sits on the skin in a manner the looks a bit cakey IMO, but with a light hand, its not obvious.

I personally use this on days where I’m just going to Target, the grocery store, and other random errands. I’ll just prime with Face Studio smooth and blur primer, place 4 dots of L’oreal True Foundation in W9, blend out, then set with Ben Nye Luxuy Powder in Olive Sand (my GOAT!).

Worth it or nah: Black Opal Shade ID Kit

The hassle of buying makeup online

Buying foundation online  can be a doughting experience, especially when you’re not sure how well it will match your skin. I’ve have bought the wrong shade several times which is a reason I like higher end foundations as I’m able to try it out before buying. But that all changed when browsing the Black Opal Beauty website.

I did some research online for info on the Black Opal shade kit, Continue reading “Worth it or nah: Black Opal Shade ID Kit”

Worth it or nah?: Black Radiance Liquid lipstick

Stumbling upon this drugstore lipstick

While on my weekly run to Target, I just so happen to find the  Black Radiance liquid lipstick for $3.99. I normally try to stay away from the drugstore ailse ( I’ll spend majority of my time in Target there and buy not one beauty item).  I usually stay away from drugstore liquid lipsticks as most I’ve had an allergic Continue reading “Worth it or nah?: Black Radiance Liquid lipstick”
