Nightly skincare routine

My skin is not what is use to be

My skincare regime has greatly changed over the years.  My skin has become less oily and more combination skin (oily in T-zone and dry to normal on cheeks). I have adult acne and have been having more minor breakouts. These steps have helped minimize my breakouts and dry patches in my face.

The process

First, just like any good skincare regime, I start by removing any makeup with a makeup wipes. I’m currently using the Philosophy simply purity makeup wipes (I’ll add I’m not too particular about makeup wipes as long as it does not burn).   Typically I use the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing wipes which are extremely gentle for my skin, but do not take off makeup very well. Next, I wash my face with Aveeno Clear complexion foaming cleanser, which has 0.05% salicylic acid to aid in clearing skin. After drying my face with a towel, I wet a cotton ball with Pixi Glo Tonic (you can see my previous review here). After allowing my face to dry, I put on a  Replenix 5% benzoyl peroxide and be sure to place it only in the areas that are breaking out. Lastly, I use Murad Retinol Renewal Serum which has been a miracle for the past month all over my face.

Feel free to share

Although this has been my routine lately, I am also open to trying new products that could potential help (after doing research of course). Feel free to share some of your favorite skin products or your nightly routine.

October 2017 empties

Here are products that I emptied in October 2017

1. Redness Relief eye drops from Walgreens

Great at relieving dryness/redness in my after long computer usage.

2. Lavender essential oil

October 2017 emptiesOne of my favorite ways to relax and refresh a room is to use essential oils with Lavender essential oil being the most frequently used. I just drip a few drops in a oil dispenser and I’m good to go! I normally buy mine from TJ Maxx.
